Welcome to Femundsundet Holiday Houses!

Femundsundet can offer two large Holiday Houses. The Femundsundet Storhytte which are perfect for groups from 16 to 40 persons and the cozy Skula for 8 to 16 persons.

The Femundsundet Storhytte have 15 large bedrooms, 13 with modern bathrooms. In the ground floor there is a modern kitchen, huge living room with sitting groups in front of the fire and dining tables and chairs in the other part.

The view from the cabin is majestic to the great Sölen Mountain (1.755 m). Just 200 m from the cabin is the Femund River, which is the longest river in Scandinavia! It starts from the Lake Femund, which is near, and is the second largest in Norway. It is perfect for hiking and skiing in the many mountains or forests, or you can go horse riding, dog sledges, Snowscooter-safari or Elk safari. For the fisher it is an eldorado with many lakes and rivers.

The Femundsundet Skula have 5 large bedrooms and two bathsrooms. In the ground floor there is a modern kitchen with a huge dining table. The living room is very nice with a modern fire and sitting group. The Skula is an 100 year old timber lodge that was modernized for christmas 2016. Just 200 m away is the Femund River. The two baths are moderne with floor warming and one has a washing machine.

Activities in Femund and Engerdal

The area Femund and Engerdal offer great possibilites for hiking, fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities both in summer and winter. In the surrounding lies two national parks and wonderful nature. Here is also the southernmost active Sámi culture in the world. The terrain varies from lake areas, unspoiled forests to wonderful mountain areas with lakes and rivers. This surely is a "Klondike" for the fisherman and the hunter, but also for the hiker. In the forests and mountains there is wilderness and you find the bear, wolf, lynx, elk, reindeer, fox, eagle e'g. Discover your own romantic trails or come along on organised group activities. The local landscape offers everything from quiet and reflection in virgin forest and majestic mountains to drama, excitement and thrilling adventures along the river...

In the summer it is perfect for fishing, fishing safari, guiding, canoing, boats, the MS Feumnd II, windsurfing, rafting and hiking.

In the winter there is snow from November through April. You can visit the nature and the mountains going cross country skiing, Alpine, ice fishing, snowscooter safari etc. Just outside the cabin you can use your skies directly into our slopes leading into the forests and up in the mountains. Just 700 m away there is a small down hill center. We offer cross country skirental.

All year through you can enjoy and taste the traditional cooking of the area based on rawmaterials from the nature and wilderness. Enjoy fish, meat and berries which are used in composing luxury and daily meals. 

More information of the Holiday Houses

The Femundsundet Storhytte has 40 good beds in the 15 bedrooms. The cabin was build in 2006 and is 600 sqm large.
 
The kitchen is modern with a large gas stove, professional dish washer, good space and fully equipped. You can also cater food or maybe a chef from the district.

The living room consists of one large area for dining with seats for every guest. In the other part there is sitting groups and a very nice open fire! You can also go directly outside where you can sit and enjoy the nice weather and view.

The bedrooms have high standards with bathrooms and toilets in each room. Two bedrooms have one extra room (e'g for the children). Each room is equipped with two high quality beds and some in addition with sofas with a Bed in side. Nine bedrooms are in first floor and four bedrooms at the ground floor. Two bedrooms in the groundfloor are prepared for handicapped persons. Every bed is equipped with dynen and pillows. You can rent bed linen.

The bathrooms are modern with floorwarming, shower and a toilet. You can rent towels and bed linen.
